Most homes built before 1974 have lead based paint, according to government studies. Lead paint chips and other sources of lead such as factory and automobile emissions contribute to soil contamination in residential neighborhoods. Government and independent studies have shown lead to be a major health hazard for growing children www.hud.gov/lea/leadhelp.html If you have reason to suspect that your home or property has lead contamination problems you can easily test paint and soil with a simple lead testing kit from http://www.leadinspector.com/ Cost effective lead paint encapsulation and treatment REMOVE LEAD BASED PAINT with LEADX®-DB and chemical paint stripper. LEADX®-DB may be used with any commercially available chemical paint stripper. COVER EXISTING LEAD BASED PAINT, add 8 oz. LEADX®-DB paint additive per gallon of paint and apply with brush or roller.
